I joined a wonderful co-op art gallery in Fairport, NY a few months ago, where I have a few paintings for display/sale on a rotating basis. There are over 30 members with a wide variety of beautiful artwork. https://www.railroadstreetartworks.org

Also, I am a member of the Brockport Artist's Guild and we are having a group show at a lovely new art gallery, also in Fairport, NY, called Stony Point East. We'll have artwork there starting this Friday, April 4th and running to the end of April.

And lastly, I am having a solo show of new and older artwork at Marti's on Main, a very unique creative space and Art Gallery in this historic building in Albion, NY. The Opening Reception is Friday, May 16 from 6 til 8:00. Please tell your friends and come to Albion! The show will run through June, 2025.

]]><![CDATA[Mural for Community Action in Albion, NY]]>Sun, 10 Nov 2024 03:39:45 GMThttps://www.davidfburke-art.com/blog/mural-for-community-action-in-albion-nyIn October I finished a mural on a building owned by Community Action of Orleans County on South Main Street that houses a thrift store and a laundromat. This mural (like many others I have done) was made possible from a grant through GOART! in Batavia.
I got A LOT of wonderful feedback from people in the community who came by while I was working on it. And I thank the woman who asked if I could include a cat in the mural, because she is very fond of cats! It really made the mural!

I had an opening reception of my show on October 26th, which saw a nice turnout of friends and family. My paintings will be on display there through November.

I've been very lax about putting new content here, but I just wanted to advertise a really groovy Art Installation/Music Venue that is happening every Friday and Saturday evening in Batavia, New York during the month of June.
I've had the opportunity to get involved in this site-specific Art Installation/Show called Enter Through the Coffee Shop at The Harvester Center, 56 Harvester Street in Batavia with several other artists beginning in January 2023, and it has blossomed into an amazing experience! The coffee shop mentioned is Pub Coffee Hub, and the owner, Rob Credi, is providing food and beverages during the evenings when The Harve is open. Local artist and business owner Brian Kemp and Artist Mary Jo Whitman from GOART! came up with this idea to turn a mammoth warehouse space in the Harvester Building into a space of spontaneous creativity that is awesome to behold! And building manager Jarrod Clark was totally into it and has been incredibly supportive through the 4 month process.
