Enter Through the Coffee Shop at The Harve

I've been very lax about putting new content here, but I just wanted to advertise a really groovy Art Installation/Music Venue that is happening every Friday and Saturday evening in Batavia, New York during the month of June.
I've had the opportunity to get involved in this site-specific Art Installation/Show called Enter Through the Coffee Shop at The Harvester Center, 56 Harvester Street in Batavia with several other artists beginning in January 2023, and it has blossomed into an amazing experience! The coffee shop mentioned is Pub Coffee Hub, and the owner, Rob Credi, is providing food and beverages during the evenings when The Harve is open. Local artist and business owner Brian Kemp and Artist Mary Jo Whitman from GOART! came up with this idea to turn a mammoth warehouse space in the Harvester Building into a space of spontaneous creativity that is awesome to behold! And building manager Jarrod Clark was totally into it and has been incredibly supportive through the 4 month process.

Just Finished a New Mural

I got a chance to work on a new exterior mural in Oakfield, NY, thanks to Susan Zeliff, who is in the process of refurbishing an old commercial building that has been vacant for many years into a Community Center! She got a grant through GOART! in Batavia to hire me and a couple of talented young women from Oakfield. The sisters, who just graduated from the art program at Genesee Community College, came up with the basic design and content for the mural, and we collaborated on painting it over the last couple of weeks.
It's the first time I've painted with other people, and it was a lot of fun!
Hopefully, we'll be doing more work on the other side of the building next year.

Please go to my Murals page for more photos!

A New Painting and an Old One

Well, the Spring has been very interesting this year of the Great Pandemic. My family has been very fortunate through all of this, and I've been able to keep busy making art and getting to enjoy the outdoors. Right now I'm working on a mural on a brick building in Batavia, New York, which has just been expanded by the business owner to include the whole side of the building all the way to the top! We're getting a scissors lift today so I can continue the top portion. I'll have more on that later, and photos.
But for now, here is a painting of the Erie Canal path that I did last week. And also a painting from a couple of years ago that seems even more relevant today, considering the changes sweeping the world from the Black Lives Matter movement.
Wishing you well...

Door Painting at GO ART!

I had so much fun painting a mural upstairs at GO ART! last week that Gregory asked me to do one on the inside of the front door of the building (the former Batavia Club). It certainly spices things up.
Now I want to paint one at home!
